Chulu east peak 6,429 meters (21,092ft), is hard to climb with many hindrance crevasses and it’s long distance. Chulu east is rarely climbing peak among them group of Manang Himal and 33 different trekking peaks in Nepal. It also was first climbed by a German expedition group in 1955. The peak lies to the north-east of Annapurna Himalayan range above the Manang Valley in Damodar Himalayan range.

 Chulu east peak offers breathtaking climbing experiences for the Mountaineers, indeed it is quite challenging. It needs 21 days of long holiday, a good level of physical fitness, well acclimatization, and highly demand mountaineering skills as well as previous climbing experiences. In the past, it was famous for the expedition. It is technically difficult but, not for the fellows who are in a quest for challenging climb, they will obviously make it. We have very good experience in Chulu east peak climbing, and Himalayan Diamond Adventure, provides you a very comprehensive service, like for foods, accommodations, and climbing gears from the Union of International Alpinist Association (UIAA) tested, Brand of Black Diamond, Grivel, and Petzel.

 To attempt the Chulu east summit, we have to set up base camp at [4,800 meters/15,748ft] and thoroughly High camp at [5,300 meters/17,388ft] and then traversing onto snowbound fields, approximately 30 to 85 degrees of rock and snow mix climbing and then we reach underneath the main ridge of the peak. We set up our tent at [5,800 meters/19,029ft], to push summit. From the camp I, it takes maximum an hour of climbing to reach the main ridge of the peak, and then we climb along the weaving ridge. Making long and long climbing, finally, we reach the top of the peak. The peak offers spellbinding views.

 Introduction of Trail:
We will go on a scenic bus journey from Kathmandu to Chame 250 kilometers, 11 to 12 hours. And, trek kicks out to Manang valley, from Manang or Ngawal village, The common route to the summit is via the North-East ridge, following the small narrow valley with stream, the yak pasturelands under the juniper and mixed pine trees and walk up a gentle slope bushland, after ascending an hour from Yak kharka to reach screed and steeply ridge, which leads into a hidden small valley where it is possible to find a good campsite for base camp, [4,800 meters/15,748ft].

 From base camp to col, several times trail ascends steeply uphill, and approach to a small hidden valley where is enough place to pitch for high camp [5,300 meters/17,388ft]. From the high camp, the trail moves to up following the north-east ridge to col. From the col, there are two routes separate, south-east ridge is beyond the col. It leads common route for East summit and north-east ridge for Far-east summit. From the col, the track moves gently down snowbound glacial to South - East ridge.

 This part is challenging for the climber with hindrance fractured glacial terrains. After traversing on crevasses reach the main base of the wall, later then starts screed slopes to gain the main summit ridge. After 2 hours of continuous climbing uphill on rock and snow slopes about 30 to 85 degrees of vertical reach to the main climbing east ridge for the top. An attempt of Chulu east peak climb along the ridge while making a long climbing, finally we kick on the summit 6,429 meters (21,092ft). And back to climb the base camp.

 Chulu East Peak offers an astonishing feeling of rejuvenating with the most spectacular view of Himalaya in the Annapurna region. Seen from the summit the massif mountains like Annapurna I-IV Dhaulagiri 8,167 meters (26,794ft), Tilicho  peak 7,134 meters (23,405ft), Khangsar Kang 7,485 meters (24,557ft), Tarke Kang (Glacier Dom) [7,067 meters/23,185ft], Gangapurna 7,454 meters (24,455ft), Manaslu 8,163 meters (26,781ft) and  many others several mountains views.

 This 21 days of Chulu East climbing takes you to the maximum altitude of 6,429 meters (21,092ft). Tentatively, you will walk 4 to 12 hours per day. For accommodation, you may either have to stay in a lodge or set a camp. All in all, Chulu Far East climb will take you passing marvelous backdrop and allow you to get the sight of a distinctive culture. Also, you will traverse all the way through woods like- pine, rhododendron, the terraced pastures, Tibetan Gurung community and the friendly nature of Manage inhabitants. Detailed Itinerary

Day  01: Arrival in Kathmandu [1,350 meters/4,429ft], transfer to hotel included breakfast service by tourist bus or in a car:

Flying to Kathmandu along the northern border of Nepal on a clear day is itself an exciting and memorable experience as an exotic panoramic view of snow-capped Langtang Lirung  Himal, Ganesh Himal jugal Range can be seen before your landing in Kathmandu Tribhuvan International airport. After landing of your aircraft, our company representative will come to pick up with welcome greeting you. After collecting your luggage, we escort you to hotel included breakfast service. In the evening, you will have welcome dinner with guide briefing about the day program of tomorrow.

Day 02: Special expedition preparation day, permitting gears and types of equipment and Overnight in Hotel:

Our climbing guide will come to your hotel to check your necessary climbing gears and equipment for trekking and peak climbing after your arrival at the hotel. If you don’t have proper equipment and gears, he can advise you to buy or hire in the trekking shops of Thamel. And before his leave with you, our guide will brief you the day program of tomorrow.

Day 03: A scenic bus journey Kathmandu to Chame [2,670 meters/8,760ft], about 250 kilometers, 11 to 12 hrs. Stay in a lodge:

Today, we make a scenic bus journey from Kathmandu to Besisahar – Chame headquarter of Manang district 270 kilometers, 11 to 12 hours by tourist bus/Jeep. We will have a thrilling bus journey, while driving along the road, we can see a stunning mountain terrain views towards us, such as Ganesh Himal Range, Buddha Himal, Rani peak, group of Himalchuli, Ngadi Chuli, and Manasalu along with many white rivers and tributaries, green hills, the farmer’s cultivated terraced lands and villages. Overnight in a lodge (service included dinner and breakfast with a hot drink).

Day 04: We set off our trek to Pisang village [3,200 meters/10,498ft], walk 4 hours. Overnight in lodge:

From Chame, we have two options to reach Pisang, Tibetan Buddhist inhabited settlement, walking along the newly opened road or by Jeep. If we take a Jeep we reach there within 30 to 45 minutes and on foot 4 hours. From today, we will leave tree line and ascent to snowline. After checking in the room, we hike to upper Pisang to gain altitude. As you trek to upper Pisang, you can witness fascinating views of Annapurna II [7,937 meters/26,040ft], Annapurna IV [7,525 meters/24,688ft], and Annapurna III [7,555 meters/24,786ft], in your back.  We spend overnight in a lodge (service included dinner and breakfast with a hot drink).

Day  05: Trek to Ngawal [3,657 meters/12,057ft], walk 4 hours. Overnight at lodge:

The trail crosses Marshyangdi River and continues following a narrow path under the moderate blue pine forest more gently way up to next well-made suspension bridge. After crossing a well-made suspension bridge, we steeply climb up to Ghyaru village. Today, we trek through Tibetan Gurung isolated village with superb spectacular panoramic Mountain view, like Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Pisang peak, Tilicho peak,  Manang Himal, along with visiting many large Buddhist chortens, mani walls, and monasteries along the way. We spend overnight at a lodge (service included dinner and breakfast with a hot drink).

Day 06: Acclimatization Day:

Today is entirely an acclimatization day. Reason climbers should have to spend a couple of nights in this elevation for proper acclimatization before heading towards base camp.

Day 07: Trek to Yak Kharka [3,740 meters/12,270ft], walk 3 hours. Stay at tented camp:

After as usual breakfast, we start our trek Yak Kharka through the farmer’s cultivated land, pine, birch, and juniper forest along the tiny local gradually up trail. Walking off 3 hours continue up the trail, we reach to Yak kharka [3,740 meters/12,270ft]. After our lunch, we hike to base camp [4,800 meters/15,748ft], for acclimatization. We come back at Yak kharka in the evening. Overnight at the tented camp(service included dinner and breakfast with a hot drink).

Day 08: Trek to Base camp [4,800 meters/15,748ft], hike up 4 hours. Stay at tented camp:

We wake up at 06:30 A.M. for up off tea, 07:00 A.M. breakfast about 07:45 A.M. we leave to base camp. After crossing a wooden bridge in Yak kharka, we steeply ascent uphill through yak pasture lands moderate slope of ground-hugging bushes, and finally climb a rock and scree steep slope before reaching the base camp. We trek along the more strenuous route but, the landscape is unquestionably splendid to our backward. After setting up camp on base camp, we teach you climbing skills. This kind of climbing activities can build up climber’s confidence to attempt the summit. We sleep in a tent (service included dinner and breakfast with a hot drink).

Day 09: Entirely days, for acclimatization and climbing practice, it can build up your confidence to attempt the summit:   

Today is another acclimatization and climbing practice day. After as usual breakfast time, we demo you gears racking, bag packing, anchorage, and movement on the slope. Shortly we tell you specification of gears like the capacity of rope, harness, tape sling, carabineer, figure of 8, and Anchorage and we share you climbing some technique. We stay at tented camp including full board service.

Day 10: Move camp to high camp to [5,400 meters/17,716ft], walk 3 hours on the scree slope:

After spending a couple of nights on base camp, we move our camp to high camp [5,400 meters/17,716ft]. The trail is moderately steep but, it seems more strenuous before yesterday, due to the altitude. The landscape is amazing along with views of Annapurna II throughout the ascend. We stay in a tent (service included dinner and breakfast with a hot drink).

Day 11: Today we will cross crevasse and climb rock and snow slopes, sleep nearby Chulu east ridge:

After climbing off 1 hour on the rock we reach on the col, from the col the routes separated to real East summit and Far- east summit. We traverse slight down on snowbound crevasses. There are countless crevasses before reaching the main point of Chulu east climbing wall, there is a place for setting up the tent on rock but it is better to climb more uphill today, for making the short climbing distance for tomorrow.

Day 12: Summit day, get the ridge and climb along the weaving long ridge to get the main top, back to High camp:

Today, we get up at 4 am and start to climbing preparation, after taking some cups tea or coffee with light breakfast we set out climbing on the slope of Chulu East. After climbing off an hour, the sun comes with glorious morning and we also reach on the main ridge of Chulu East. It will be enjoyable climbing but, climbers must pay attention for safety; the ridge climbing is not safe with steep slopes. After making long climb along the ridge, we carry off to touch summit. The top offers distinctive views. You will feel the rejuvenating aura. Back to high camp via the same route.

Day 13: A Contingency day:

Since there is no guarantee that we will have favorable weather on our tentative itinerary to attempt summit or glacier traverse, so we need some spare days to cover our trip program. A spare day is in case of any problems affecting our schedule. If unused at this point, this is a fantastic location and the day can be used for exploration of the valley. We stay at the tented camp included dinner and breakfast with hot drink services like tea and coffee.

Day 14: Descend back to Manang [3,540 meters/11,614ft], walk 6 hours downhill. Stay in the lodge:

After successful of the summit, we trek back to downhill Manang Tibetan village. Manang is more possibly tourist destination in this valley with subjected facilities like side trips, hotel, good food, shops, and internet. Overnight at a lodge included dinner and breakfast with hot drink services like tea and coffee.

Day 15: Trek continue to Chuli Ledar [4,200 meters/13,779ft], walk 5 hours. Stay at the lodge:

After leaving the large Tibetan Gurung Manang village, the trail gradually climbs to Ghunsang and then more gradually ascends up to Chuli lather lodges with beautiful landscape. The track passes with a stunning view of Manang village,  Gangapurna lake, Marsyangdi River to our backward, Annapurna range beyond the Manang Himal, some yaks, and Blue sheep grazing lands. Finally, we reach to Chuli Ledar lodge today, we spend overnight at Lodge included dinner and breakfast with hot drink services like tea and coffee.

Day 16: Head over Thorong High Camp [4,925 meters/16,158ft], walk 4 hours. Stay at the lodge:

From  Chuliledar, the trail more gently climbs to up way crossing the Kone Khola over the well-made suspension bridge, scree, rock falls zones and frozen streams in winter to new Phedi and Yak and Blue sheep grazing lands. Finally, we ascend uphill with some difficulty, but the landscape is incomparable. Overnight at lodge included dinner and breakfast with hot drink services like tea and coffee.

Day 17: Push up to Thorong La pass [5,416 meters/17,769ft], trek descend to Muktinath [3,760 meters/12,335ft], Stay in the lodge:

Today, we get up early in the morning at about 05: 00 AM to have a light breakfast with a cup of tea. After breakfast, we begin ascending towards the famous and challenging Thorong La Pass [5,416 meters/17,769ft]. Leaving of High Camp, the trail gently rises up to Thorong La Pass. And, from the top, the trail steadily drops to Phedi - Muktinath, where we break for hot lunch and relaxation. After relaxation some hour in Phedi, we more gently descend to Muktinath the holy land pilgrimage town. We spend overnight at a lodge (service included dinner and breakfast with a hot drink).

Day 18: Trek to Jomsom [2,720 meters/8,923ft], walk 7 hours headquarter of Mustang district. Stay at a lodge:

Leaving of Muktinath, the track starts to rise on the gentler slope and descends several times along the more natural trail to Jomsom, with beautiful dry landscape and magnificent Dhaulagiri Mountain View.  After passing of Lubra village, the track descends more gently to Jomsom the headquarter of Mustang district following the Kaligandaki down River through candy bar. Finally, we reach to Jomsom windy valley walking off 7 to 8 hours from Muktinath. Jomsom is more possibly tourist destination in this valley with many subjected of facilities like the hotel, bank, shops, internet, airstrip, bus, and jeep. Today, we celebrate our fantastic trek ending with singing and dancing. Overnight at a lodge (service included dinner and breakfast with a hot drink).       

Day 19: A 35 minutes of scenic flight Jomsom to Pokhara, transfer to Hotel included breakfast service:

We take 35 minutes of scenic flight Jomsom to Pokhara with exciting memorable experience as a stunning panoramic view of Annapurna [8,091 meters/26,545ft], Dhaulagiri [8,167 meters/26,794ft], Nilgiri [7,060 meters/23,162ft], Annapurna south [7,219 meters/23,684ft], Machhapuchhare [6,997 meters/22,956ft], and others  mountains before your landing in Pokhara airstrip [820 meters/2,690ft]. We transfer Hotel included breakfast service.

 In case the flight gets canceled due to the bad weather or any technical problem we can miss our flight Jomsom to Pokhara.  After getting flight cancellation it's not easy to get next flight, so it is better to, catch Jeep from Jomsom to Beni and then Beni to Pokhara microbus about 9 to 10 hours to reach Pokhara.

Day 20: After outstanding Himalayan trekking and peak climbing, drive back to Kathmandu [1,350 meters/4,429ft],  7 hours drive, 200 kilometers:

After an outstanding Annapurna, and Mustang nature and culture trekking and peak climbing, today we drive back to Kathmandu [1,350 meters/4,429ft], in tourist bus 7 hours 200 kilometers from Pokhara. Today, we have a thrilling drive, while driving we have a view of mountain terrain, many cultivated lands, rivers, and side rivers and waterfalls so on. Today we have a farewell dinner in tourist standard restaurant.

Day 21: Finally departure to home, say goodbye:

Today, we drop you in Tribhuvan International Airport terminal room in your flight departure time by tourist Bus or a Car and say goodbye.

We also provide you tourist standard hotel for three nights in Kathmandu and one night in Pokhara including service like breakfast. We will have a scenic bus journey from Kathmandu to Besisahar- Chame 250 kilometers, 11 to 12 hours and Pokhara – Kathmandu 200 kilometers, 6 to 7 hours. After 5 days of rejuvenating treks, we will finally reach on the base camp.

During the period of trekking, we stay in the lodge and on-base camp, high camp, and in camp one in tented camp with company's extensive service. During the trek, we will explore to the authentic ethnic group's pristine unique culture and lifestyle. And, trek following the clean Marsyangdi River in Manang valley and Mustang valley following Kali Gandaki down the river. These valleys are separated by Thorong la pass [5,416 meters/17,769ft]. It is the main destination of trekkers.

Himalayan flora and fauna, sometimes magically can appear snow leopard and blue sheep, and Himalayan Griffon are very common for this trip. Alpine flowers will dominate the landscape from mid of May to late September. Especially, the farmer's crops bloom throughout the farmlands and the crops splashing  the color of joy and perfection at the early of August to late September. It will be Superb lifetime climbing experience to be on top of the peak.

 Service: at Chulu east Base Camp:

We set up a permanent base camp for as long as the expedition continues. Each of the members has a personal North- face VE 24 dome tent with waterproof compact mat. We provide chairs and clean fascinating table with solar electricity light make your stay at base camp as luxurious. We have a toilet tent; all is in perfectly hygienic condition and order.

We provide sufficient and tasty hygienically prepared food at all Camps, Base Camp, High Camp and Camp One during your peak climbing. Plenty of high altitude food is provided at higher camps.

Climbing Training/ Rental Gears:

The guide instructs you lot in the Chulu base camp time, before head higher Camps. The guide tips you very important climbing techniques, like climb on slab rocks and on blue ice, Active rappelling (Up sailing), and Safety placement, proper arrange of gears and equipments while climbing and use of proper climbing gears.

The climbing gears are super expensive, so why you spend lots money for once time use? You can have climbing gears on hire from us with reasonable price. The rental gears are branded of Black Diamond, La Sportiva, Grivel, and Petzl. We Himalayan Diamond Adventure highly recommend you the Union of International Alpinist Association (UIAA) tested gears one for safe and comfortable climbing.

Safety Measurement, Weather Forecast and Communication System:

After proper acclimatization and well prepared to push summit, we will ensure favorable weather forecast. We always stand on our quality of weather forecast service. Its affiliated with government of Nepal (Meteorological Division) Mountaineering is itself dangerous cause of high altitude, frostbite, hypothermia, blindness, snowfall, rock fall, avalanches, crevasses and white out.

However, if we are well equipped, we can avoid the high risk.  We are very aware of a possible happening accident in the mountain, so we always ensure our safety first and then we go to the summit. In case, climber face any unpleasant incident, we have a facility of 4 liters Russian Oxygen cylinder with summit mask regulator for emergency cause and all required treatment aids with the guide. That means we are stand-by against any danger in the mountain.

Besides these, the guide, as well as the climbers, would be carrying the Satellite phones or Radio sets to approach communication service. Otherwise, focusing the major subject safely, we will arrange all in time even call the Rescue Team or Helicopter and take you down to the low elevation.
