01. How Difficult Is To Climb Mount Himlung?

Mountaineering is a challenging activity that involves many subjective and objective factors. However, in my opinion, Mount Himlung is comparatively safer and easier than other mountains, despite its elevation of 7,126 meters (23,379 feet). Climbers need to have a good level of physical fitness and mental strength, be well-equipped with familier climbings gears such as ice axes, crampons, Jumars, ATC guide, and fixed ropes, and have a good understanding of how to use them for a safe climb. Additionally, climbers must properly acclimate to the altitude to ensure a safe and enjoyable climb.

02. What Is The Best Time Of Year To Climb Himlung?

The Nepal weather forecast is looking good for both the spring and autumn seasons. During these seasons, the weather is generally warmer, with blue skies and fewer chances of snowfall, and more stable weather patterns, making it easier to navigate the challenging terrain.

However, to ensure a safe and successful climb of Mount Himlung, it is recommended to climb during the months of September to October. November is also a good time for Himlung, but it is too cold on the summit ridge, so proper climbing gear and exposure experience are necessary. If you are a normal climber, we highly recommend climbing in October, which is the best time due to mild and stable weather, clear skies, and excellent visibility. Climbing during this time can provide optimal conditions for climbers, making it a popular choice for those looking to summit Himlung.

03. How Long Does It Take To Climb Himlung?

It takes a minimum of 3 weeks to 5 weeks for a successful climb of Mount Himlung, which begins from Kathmandu by riding a Jeep along the Prithibi highway and leads to the world-famous Annapurna circuit trail. At the end of the motorable road, porters are needed to transport the gear to reach base camp. The length of time it takes to climb Mount Himlung can vary depending on several factors, such as the trekking route taken, weather conditions, the climber's experience and fitness level, and the amount of time taken for acclimatization.

04. What are the main requirements for a successful climbing of Mount Himlung?

Climbing Mount Himlung requires proper preparation, training, and experience. This includes a good level of physical fitness and mental strength to endure long hours of strenuous activity at high altitudes. Proper acclimatization is also crucial to avoid altitude sickness, which can be life-threatening. Climbers need to spend several days at various altitudes to allow the body to adjust gradually to the reduced oxygen levels. Good mountaineering skills are essential, including the use of climbing gear such as ice axes, crampons, Jumars, ATC guide, and fixed ropes, as well as navigating through objective hazards like rockfall, avalanches, and crevasses. Climbers also need to have appropriate equipment, including warm layers, waterproof outerwear, and sturdy climbing boots suitable for the harsh mountain environment. 05. How Much Does It Cost For The Himlung  Expedition?

The cost for climbing Mount Himlung in October can vary depending on a number of factors such as the trekking length of your trip, the number of climbers in your group, the level of service and the type of permit you need. However, I can provide you with a rough estimate of the cost based on the average prices.

The cost for climbing Mount Himlung typically ranges from $7,500 per person. This cost usually includes permits, transportation, accommodation, food, and group climbing equipment. However, if you need additional services such as a personal guide, porters, or oxygen, the cost will be extra charged.

06. How Is The Bace Camp Services Like?

For the long run Himlung expedition, we have set up a permanent and luxurious base camp to provide our members with a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Each member will be provided with an individual Nepali-made box tent, a waterproof compact mat, and a comfortable mattress to ensure a luxurious experience. In addition, we offer a carpeted and heated dining hall with luxurious armchairs and a clean, fascinating table, and solar lighting. We also have a separate communication hall, storage tent, shower tent, and toilet tent, all in perfectly hygienic condition.

Our Nepalese guides have their own individual tents, dining hall, and storage tent, while the rest of the base camp staff will share two-person tents. We also have a well-trained expedition chef who prepares delicious and hygienic meals, and an expedition team manager who handles all necessary logistics and climbing requirements for a successful climb

At Himalayan Diamond Adventure, we understand that good food is essential for maintaining energy levels and staying healthy during a challenging climb. That's why we serve hygienic meals with fresh vegetables, fruits, meats, and baked goods, as well as a variety of hot and cold drinks, including Coke, juice, beer, and wine. We also offer a selection of premium alcoholic beverages, such as whiskey and vodka. If climbers would like to prepare their own meals, they are welcome to join our kitchen, where they will have access to all necessary equipment and ingredients.

07. What Are The Higher Camp  Services Like?

We have set up Camp 1 for our main climbing preparation, and Camp 2 is only for overnight stays during acclimatization and emergencies. At Camp 1, we provide two-person tents with waterproof mats, a kitchen tent, a dining tent with tables and chairs, and a toilet. However, Camp 2 does not have the same level of service. We provide two-person sleeping tents with waterproof mats and high-altitude food, along with cooking pots and a cooking fire. Emergency oxygen cylinder bottles, mask regulators, and a satellite phone are available for an additional fee.

During our stay at both Base Camp and Camp 2, we will provide sufficient, tasty, and hygienically prepared food for your Everest expedition. We also provide plenty of high-altitude foods at higher camps.

08. What Do Our Higher Camps Look Like Before I Start Climbing?

Before taking our members on hikes to Camp 1 and Camp 2, our high-altitude support climbing team will have already set up all the higher camps and deposited all necessary equipment, climbing gear, food, and emergency oxygen. Once the higher camps are set up, our supporting high-altitude porters will ensure that they are ready for us to move up, and our guides will lead you to Camp 1 for an overnight stay. The following day, we will return to Base Camp

09. Can I Learn Mountaineering Skills Before Pushing The Summit?

Whether you are a professional or a beginner climber, our team of guides provides training in various mountaineering skills during your stay at Base Camp before starting the climb. These skills include climbing on vertical snow slopes, traversing crevasses, using crampons and ice axes, ascending with jumar devices, rappelling (descending) safely, and properly applying gear and equipment while climbing. We will also teach you how to use oxygen and mask regulators, if needed.

10. What Kind Of Travel Insurance Will Require To Climb Lobuche Peak?

It is essential for foreign travelers to secure insurance coverage while trekking or climbing in Nepal. Although trekking in Nepal is generally safe, but if you're going to mountaineering in Nepal then the travel insurance is compulsory. During trip it can be posed physical challenges and hazards, especially at high altitudes, where altitude sickness is prevalent among trekkers, especially foreign travelers who may not have acclimatized properly. Physical injuries can also occur on mountain trails, and in emergency situations, foreign trekkers may need to be rescued by helicopter and transported to hospitals in Kathmandu, which can be costly if the traveler does not have insurance coverage.

We strongly recommend purchasing a travel insurance package that covers high altitudes up to 6,500 meters, potential medical issues, natural disasters, personal accidents, emergency helicopter evacuation, loss or damage of personal belongings, and trip cancellations. 11. What Happens If There Is An Emergency?

We prioritize safety and security during adventure trips. If you experience an emergency, become sick, or lose your belongings while trekking or climbing in the mountains, it is important to inform your trekking guide or accompanying agency immediately. They will arrange for a helicopter to rescue you and provide medical attention, or report the incident to the nearest police station to recover your lost belongings. Rest assured that we will take proper steps to ensure your safety and well-being in a timely manner.

12. What Essential Documents Do I Need To Bring With Me On Tour?

❖ Valid passport with at least 6 months validity and at least 2 blank visa pages

❖ Travel insurance policy document

❖ Photocopies of your passport's personal information page

❖ One or more recent passport-sized photos with a white background (1.5 inch x 1.5 inch)

❖ Completed and signed Nepal visa application form

❖ Proof of accommodation in Nepal (such as a hotel reservation or address)

❖ Valid return flight or travel ticket

❖ Proof of sufficient financial means, such as recent bank statements

❖ Mastercard, Visa, and some cash in USD

❖ Proof of payment of the Nepal visa fee

13. How Do You Stay Healthy During A Trek In Nepal?

To maintain good health during a trek in Nepal, it's important to balance your diet and water intake. Avoid junk, stale, heavily spiced, and fried foods, as well as meat, fish, eggs, and samosas. Opt for fresh, locally prepared meals and ask your guide for recommendations. Drink only boiled, filtered, or bottled water, and check the expiration date of bottled drinks like Coca Cola and Sprite. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water or tea. Walk at a pace that's comfortable for you to prevent acute mountain sickness.

14. What Happens If I Cancel The Trip?

If you need to cancel your trip, please note that the following refund amounts will apply based on the timing of the cancellation:

❖ Cancellations made at least one month prior to the departure date will receive a full refund.

❖ Cancellations made between 2 to 3 weeks prior to the departure date will receive a 50% refund.

❖ Cancellations made within 2 weeks of the departure date will receive a 25% refund.

❖ Unfortunately, cancellations made less than one week prior to the departure date will not beeligible for any refund.

15. What Does The Summit Plan Look Like?

We will begin our climbing journey by offering a Puja ceremony to the goddess mother Himlung at Base Camp for a safe and successful climb. The next day, our team of guides will train us in various skills, including the use of crampons, ice axes, and jumars (ascender devices), as well as self-rappelling. We will then hike to Camp 1 for a one-night stay before returning to Base Camp for rest. Next, we will hike to Camp 2 for an overnight stay and then return to Base Camp for further rest. After completing our acclimatization climbing rotation, we will check the weather forecast for a good summit window. If the weather is favorable, we will make our summit push before returning to Base Camp and driving back to Kathmandu.
