Chulu Far East trekking Peak is the highly demanding trekking peak among 27 trekking peaks in Nepal. Chulu Far-east peak is located in North- East of Manang valley and beyond the Annapurna Himalayan range in Damodar Himalayan range. There is a group of peaks, it is known as the Manang Himal. Chulu-far east peak was the first ascent by the German expedition team in 1955.

Chulu Far East is a moderate challenging and difficult peak to attempt with 15 degrees to 85 degrees ice slopes and crevasses. It needs to be done with using the equipment like- Fix line rope, Jumar (ascender device), ATC guide or Figure of 8 (belay device), fitting crampons, harness, normal ice-ax, helmet, 2 lock or auto-lock carabiners, 3 open get carabiners and 3m dynamic rope with diameters of 8mm for the safety rope. The fixed rope does not require expert climbers. They can make it with the Alpinist system. The majority of the climbing parts require fixed ropes for safety guarded.

It might be technically difficult to climb, especially for beginner climbers. However, who are in a quest for thrilling climbing and well-acclimatized with a good level of physical fitness obviously, can make it. We are very experienced in Chulu Far East peak climbing. And on the other hand, Himalayan Diamond Adventure provides you genuine climbing gears. It is tested by the Union of International Alpinist Association (UIAA).

The trip does not only offers ultimate climbing satisfaction, but also rewards typical Buddhist and Hindus culture and unique locals lifestyle along with wonderful views of vistas like Annapurna I to IV, Gangapurna, Glacier Dome, Tilicho, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu. About Trekking Trail:

The Annapurna Classic Trek and Chulu Far East Peak Climbing will let you experience the distinctive culture, the thriving Tibetan Gurung community, and the warm hospitality of Manage inhabitants. The trail traverses from plain to snow land passing through terraced rice fields, yak grazing lands, and glaciers. Chulu Far East expedition kicks off from Besisahar or Chame and ascends to Marsyangdi valley. We will then traverse the well-known Thorong-La pass 5,416 meters (17,769ft), and then trek down to Muktinath 3,760 meters (12,336ft), before moving down to the Kali Gandaki valley to reach Pokhara.

This 19 days Chulu Far East Climbing is a wonderful climbing trip that takes you to the maximum altitude of 6,059m/19878 ft. Basically, you will walk for 4 to 8 hours per day. For accommodation, you have to spend most of the nights in the lodges and a couple of nights in the tented camp. All in all, Chulu Far East Expedition will lead you through marvelous backdrops, and allow you to get the sight of a distinctive culture. Also, you will traverse through woods like- pine, rhododendron, the terraced pastures. You can choose to go for Chulu East Trekking especially during spring and autumn because of the peak adjacent setting that looks more eye-catching during the above two seasons.    

Climbing Route:

The slopes of the peak are 15 degrees to 85 degrees. It is challenging and difficult with ice slopes & hidden crevasses. We will climb the peak [6,059m/19,878 ft], through the normal route the north-east ridge with the full support of fixed rope and fixed rope for safety. The period of climbing hours does not only offers satisfying climbing, but it also presents several sensational panoramic mountain views. After the successful peak climbing, we will descend to the Chulu Far East Base Camp via the same route.

Climbing Training:

The guide instructs you a lot in the  Chulu far-east peak base camp time, before the head summit. The guide tips you very important climbing techniques, like climb on slab rocks, on ladders and on blue ice, Jumaring, Active rappelling (Up sailing), and Safety placement, proper arrange of gears and equipment while climbing and use of proper climbing gears.

Services at Base camp:

We set up a permanent base camp at 4,800 meters (15,748 ft), from the sea level on the grassland for as long as the expedition continues. Each of the members has a personal North- face VE 24 dome tent with a waterproof compact mat. We provide a dining tent with chairs and a clean fascinating table with solar electricity light makes your stay at base camp as luxurious. We have a toilet tent; all is in perfectly hygienic condition and order.

We provide sufficient and tasty hygienically prepared food at both Camps, Base Camp and High Camp during your peak climbing. Plenty of high altitude food is provided at higher camps.

We should have to spend a couple of nights at base camp to gain an altitude before leave towards high camp and summit push.

Services at High Camp:

We set up a permanent high camp at 5,400 meters (17,716 ft), from the sea level on the snowfield for as long as the expedition continues. Each of the members has a personal North- face VE 24 dome tent with a waterproof compact mat. We provide a dining tent with chairs and a clean fascinating table with solar electricity light that makes your stay at high camp as luxurious. We have a toilet tent; all is in perfectly hygienic condition and order.

We provide sufficient and tasty hygienically prepared food at High Camp and during your peak climbing. Plenty of high altitude food is provided at higher camps.


We serve you 3 times meals in a day with drinks like tea, coffee, and juice. We have an open Menu, which means the client can choose any dish as they like from the menu cards or the client can ask a guide for particular hygienic meals.

In the breakfast hour:

Transportation Service: 

We provide you standard private tourist buses or a car from the international airport to/from the hotel. We make a scenic journey Kathmandu to Besisahar 185 kilometers by private bus or microbus and by private Jeep up to Chame. We will have 35 minutes of scenic flight Jomsom to Pokhara and airport to hotel and hotel to airport by a private vehicle like a car or tourist bus. It depends on the group size. Pokhara to Kathmandu on a tourist bus.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu [1,350 meters/4,429ft], transfer to hotel included breakfast service by tourist bus or in car:

Flying to Kathmandu along the northern border of Nepal on a clear day is itself an exciting and memorable experience as an exotic panoramic view of snow-capped Langtang Lirung  Himal, Ganesh Himal jugal Range can be seen before your landing in Kathmandu Tribhuvan International airport. After landing your aircraft, our company representative will come to pick up with a welcome greeting you. After collecting your luggage, we escort you to the hotel included breakfast service. In the evening, you will have welcome dinner with a guide briefing about the day program of tomorrow.

Day 02:  Specially expedition preparation day, permits, gears, and equipment. Overnight in Hotel:

Our climbing guide will come to your hotel to check your necessary climbing gear and equipment for trekking and peak climbing after your arrival at the hotel. If you don’t have proper equipment and gears, he can advise you to buy or hire in the trekking shops in Thamel. And before his leave with you, our guide will brief you on the day program of tomorrow.

Day 03: A scenic bus journey Kathmandu to Chame [2,670 meters/8,760ft], about 250 kilometers, 11 to 12 hrs. Stay in the lodge:

Today, we take a scenic bus journey from Kathmandu to Besisahar – Chame headquarter of Manang district 270 kilometers, 11 to 12 hours by tourist bus/Jeep. We will have a thrilling bus journey while driving along the road, we can see a stunning mountain terrain views towards us, such as Ganesh Himal Range, Buddha Himal, Rani peak, group of Himalchuli, Ngadi Chuli, and Manasalu along with many white rivers and tributaries, green hills, the farmer’s cultivated terraced lands and villages. Overnight in a lodge (service included dinner and breakfast with a hot drink).

Day 04: We set off our trek to Pisang village [3,200 meters/10,498ft], walk 4 hours. Overnight in lodge:

From Chame, we have two options to reach Pisang, Tibetan Buddhist inhabited settlement, walking along the newly opened road or by Jeep. If we take a Jeep we reach there within 30 to 45 minutes and on foot 4 hours. From today, we will leave tree line and ascent to snowline. After checking in the room, we hike to upper Pisang to gain altitude. As you trek to upper Pisang, you can witness fascinating views of Annapurna II [7,937 meters/26,040ft], Annapurna IV [7,525 meters/24,688ft] and Annapurna III [7,555 meters/24,786ft], in your back.  We spend overnight in a lodge (service included dinner and breakfast with a hot drink).

Day 05: Trek to Ngawal [3,657 meters/12,057ft], walk 4 hours. Overnight at the lodge:

The trail crosses Marshyangdi River and continues following a narrow path under the moderate blue pine forest more gently way up to the next well-made suspension bridge. After crossing a well-made suspension bridge, we steeply climb up to Ghyaru village. Today, we trek through Tibetan Gurung isolated village with superb spectacular panoramic Mountain view, like Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Pisang peak, Tilicho peak,  Manang Himal, along with visiting many large Buddhist Chortens, mani walls, and monasteries along the way. We spend overnight at a lodge (service included dinner and breakfast with a hot drink).

Day 06: Acclimatization day:

Today is entirely an acclimatization day. Reason climbers should have to spend a couple of nights in this elevation for proper acclimatization before heading towards base camp.

Day 07: Trek to Yak Kharka [3,740 meters/12,270ft], walk 3 hours. Stay at tented camp:

After as usual breakfast, we start our trek Yak Kharka through the farmer’s cultivated land, pine, birch, and juniper forest along the tiny local gradually up the trail. Walking off 3 hours to continue up the trail, we reach Yak Kharka [3,740 meters/12,270ft]. After our lunch, we hike to base camp [4,800 meters/15,748ft], for acclimatization. We come back to Yak Kharka in the evening. Overnight at the tented camp(service included dinner and breakfast with a hot drink).

Day 08: Trek to Base camp [4,800 meters/15,748ft], hike up 4 hours. Stay at tented camp:

We wake up at 06:30 A.M. for up off tea, 07:00 A.M. breakfast about 07:45 A.M. we leave to base camp. After crossing a wooden bridge in Yak Kharka, we steeply ascent uphill through yak pasturelands moderate slope of ground-hugging bushes, and finally climb a rock and scree steep slope before reaching the base camp. We trek along the more strenuous route but, the landscape is unquestionably splendid to our backward. After setting up camp on base camp, we teach you climbing skills. This kind of climbing activity can build up climber’s confidence to attempt the summit. We sleep in a tent (service included dinner and breakfast with a hot drink).

Day 09: Entirely day, for acclimatization and climbing practice, it can build up your confidence to attempt summit:

Today is another acclimatization and climbing practice day. After the usual breakfast time, we demo you gears racking, bag packing, anchorage, and movement on the slope. Shortly we tell you the specification of gears like the capacity of rope, harness, tape sling, carabineer, a figure of 8, and Anchorage and we share you climbing some technique. We stay at tented camp including full board service.

Day 10: Move camp to high camp to [5,400 meters/17,716ft], walk 3 hours on scree slope:

After spending a couple of nights on base camp, we move our camp to high camp [5,400 meters/17,716ft]. The trail is moderately steep but, it seems more strenuous before yesterday, due to the altitude. The landscape is amazing along with views of Annapurna II throughout the ascend. We stay in a tent (service included dinner and breakfast with a hot drink).

Day 11: Its summit day, climb 15 to 80 degrees slopes of the peak with rope up system and support of fix line rope. Descend back to base camp:

Today, we are really excited to take a wonderful summit. We wake up early in the morning at about 3 am for tea with light breakfast and climbing preparation. We start to camp at 4 am for the summit. We walk with the support of the main rope, and finally, we climb with the support of fix line rope to attempt the peak. The climbing route is considerable with crevasses, especially in the spring season, but, the top of the peak is unquestionably fabulous for the view. The summit offers not only lifetime climbing experience but also an astonishing feel rejuvenating aura landscape. From an altitude of [6,039 meters/19,812ft], we savor mesmerizing views of Annapurna range like I – IV, Lamjung, Manasalu, Kangaru Himal, Himlung, Manang Himal, Tilicho Himal, Tibet border Himalaya, Nar-Phu, and gorgeous Manang Valley.

Day 12: A Contingency day:

Since there is no guarantee that we will have favorable weather on our tentative itinerary to attempt summit or glacier traverse, so we need some spare days to cover our Trip program. A spare day is in case of any problems affecting our schedule. If unused at this point, this is a fantastic location and the day can be used for exploration of the valley. We stay at the tented camp (service included dinner and breakfast with a hot drink).

Day 13: Descend back to Manang [3,540 meters/11,614ft], walk 6 hours downhill. Stay in the lodge:

After the success of the summit, we trek back to Manang, Tibetan village. Manang is a more possibly tourist destination in this valley with subjected facilities like side trips, hotels, good food, shops, and the internet. Overnight at a lodge (service included dinner and breakfast with a hot drink).

Day 14: Trek continue to Chuli Ledar [4,200 meters/13,779ft], walk 5 hours. Stay at the lodge:

After leaving the large Tibetan Gurung Manang village, the trail gradually climbs to Gunsang and then more gradually ascends up to Chuli lather lodges with beautiful landscapes. The track passes with a stunning view of Manang village,  Gangapurna lake, Marsyangdi River to our backward, Annapurna range beyond the Manang Himal, some yaks, and Blue sheep grazing lands. Finally, we reach to Chuli Ledar lodge today, we spend overnight at a lodge( service included dinner and breakfast with a hot drink).

Day 15: Head over Thorong High Camp [4,925 meters/16,158ft], walk 4 hours. Stay at the lodge:

From  Chuliledar, the trail more gently climbs to up way crossing the Kone Khola over a well-made suspension bridge, scree, rock falls zones and frozen streams in winter to new Phedi and Yak and Blue sheep grazing lands. Finally, we ascend uphill with some difficulty, but the landscape is incomparable. Overnight at a lodge (service included dinner and breakfast with a hot drink).

Day 16: Push up to Thorong La pass [5,416 meters/17,769ft], trek descend to Muktinath [3,760 meters/12,335ft], Stay in lodge:

Today, we get up early in the morning at about 05: 00 AM to have a light breakfast with a cup of tea. After breakfast, we begin ascending towards the famous and challenging Thorong La Pass [5,416 meters/17,769ft]. Leaving of High Camp, the trail gently rises up to Thorong La Pass. And, from the top, the trail steadily drops to Phedi - Muktinath, where we break for hot lunch and relaxation. After relaxation some hour in Phedi, we more gently descend to Muktinath the holy land pilgrimage town. We spend overnight at a lodge (service included dinner and breakfast with a hot drink).

Day 17: Trek to Jomsom [2,720 meters/8,923ft], walk 7 hours headquarter of Mustang district. Stay at the lodge:

Leaving of Muktinath, the track starts to rise on the gentler slope and descends several times along the more natural trail to Jomsom, with beautiful dry landscape and magnificent Dhaulagiri Mountain View.  After passing of Lubra village, the track descends more gently to Jomsom the headquarter of Mustang district following the Kaligandaki down River through candy bar. Finally, we reach to Jomsom windy valley walking off 7 to 8 hours from Muktinath. Jomsom is a more possibly tourist destination in this valley with many subjected to facilities like the hotel, bank, shops, internet, airstrip, bus, and jeep. Today, we celebrate our fantastic trek ending the day with singing and dancing. Overnight at a lodge (service included dinner and breakfast with a hot drink).

Day 18: A 35 minutes of scenic flight Jomsom to Pokhara, transfer to Hotel included breakfast service:

We take 35 minutes of scenic flight Jomsom to Pokhara with exciting memorable experience as a stunning panoramic view of Annapurna [8,091 meters/26,545ft], Dhaulagiri [8,167 meters/26,794ft], Nilgiri [7,060 meters/23,162ft], Annapurna south [7,219 meters/23,684ft], Machhapuchhare [6,997 meters/22,956ft], and others  mountains before your landing in Pokhara airstrip [820 meters/2,690ft]. We transfer the Hotel included breakfast service.

In case the flight gets canceled due to the bad weather or any technical problem we can miss our flight Jomsom to Pokhara.  After getting flight cancellation it's not easy to get the next flight, so it is better to, catch Jeep from Jomsom to Beni and then Beni to Pokhara microbus about 9 to 10 hours to reach Pokhara.

Day 19: After outstanding Himalayan trekking and peak climbing, drive back to Kathmandu [1,350 meters/4,429ft],  7 hours drive, 200 kilometers:

After an outstanding Annapurna, and Mustang nature and culture trekking and peak climbing, today we drive back to Kathmandu [1,350 meters/4,429ft], in tourist bus 7 hours 200 kilometers from Pokhara. Today, we have a thrilling drive, while driving we have a view of mountain terrain, many cultivated lands, rivers, and side rivers and waterfalls so on. Today we have a farewell dinner in a tourist standard restaurant.

Day 20: Finally departure to home, say goodbye:

Today, we drop you in Tribhuvan International Airport terminal room in your flight departure time by tourist Bus or a Car and say goodbye.

Note:- The conditions stated in the itinerary are mainly for the trekker who prefers full package service. At the same time, we also serve you based on your choice. The selection of itineraries and the staffs depends on your needs and financial procurement. We have options for any partial visit as per your requirement and financial condition.

Safety Measurement, Weather Forecast, and Communication System:

After proper acclimatization and well prepared to push the summit, we will ensure favorable weather forecasts. We always stand on our quality of weather forecast service. It is affiliated with the government of Nepal (Meteorological Division) Mountaineering is itself a dangerous cause of high altitude, frostbite, hypothermia, blindness, snowfall, rockfall, avalanches, crevasses and white out.

However, if we are well equipped, it makes us comfortable climb and at the same time, we can easily avoid the high risk.  We are very aware of a possible happening accident in the mountain, so we always ensure our safety first and then we go to the summit. In case, climber faces any unpleasant incident, we have a facility of 4 liters Russian Oxygen cylinder with a summit mask regulator for emergency cause and all required treatment aids with the guide. That means we are stand-by against any danger in the mountain.

Besides these, the guide, as well as the climbers, would be carrying the Satellite phones or Radio sets to approach communication service. Otherwise, focusing the major subject safely, we will arrange all in time even call the Rescue Team or Helicopter and take you down to the low elevation.

Packaging trips service:

There are more than 300 different trekking routes and 326 peaks open for climbing including 20 royalty-free peaks. Climbing peaks have been divided into 3 categories: A, B and C. in Nepal, we will help you to organize the trip according to your time, budget and choice. We organize the trip for especial solitary (alone) personal as well as a packaged trip for big groups.

We also help you to get permits, hiring trekking equipment and other related services i.e. bus reservation, airplane ticketing, and hotel booking in Kathmandu and in Mountain.

The conditions stated in the itinerary are especially for the trekker who prefers full package service. At the same time, we also customize the itinerary based on your choice and time. The selection of itineraries and the staff depends on your needs and financial procurement. We have options for any partial visit as per your requirement and financial condition.  

Best Time to Visit: -

Early September to the end of November in the autumn season and March, April, and the end of May in the Spring season is the best time to go on this adventurous journey. These months are the perfect time for hiking, trekking, and climbing in the Annapurna region. The landscape will be miraculous with very stable weather. The sky will be always spectacular, however, if you are available following times we recommend you climb Chulu Far East Peak in early September to the end of November for the beginner climbers.
