What to pack for the Dudhkunda-Pikey Peak trek depends on the season and type of trek you plan to undertake. For the typical Dudhkunda-Pikey Peak trek, which involves ascending to 4,600 meters, proper layering is crucial.   • 2-Piece breathable shirts (hiking shirts) (merino, polar tec or nylon).
  • 1 Set long sleeve shirts and trousers (merino, fleece or nylon).
  • 1 Set fleece jacket and trousers.
  • 1 Set waterproof jacket and trousers (if possible, Gore-Tex).
  • 2-Piece trekking rousers. (Columbia, north face or mountain hardwear).
  • 1 Piece down filled jacket -20 Celsius (north face, mountain hardware, rab, rei hagloffs and Berghaus.)
  • 1 Set normal shirt and paint for Kathmandu stay.
  • 2 Pairs sports underwear.
  • 2-Piece sport bras for women (breathable and moisture-wicking).
  • 1 Modest swimsuit.
  • 1 Piece hat (protection from the sun).
  • 1 Piece beanie (lightweight, easy to pack and cover your neck). North face and Berghaus make great beanie that will keep your head and ears protected from the elements.
  • 1 Piece neck gaiter or neck and head scarf bandana, balaclava (it will keep your face and neck warm while also preventing the infamous Khumbu cough as you breathe in the cold mountain air).
  • 1 Pair light inner gloves can be used when the temperature is moderate or when performing intricate tasks such as tying shoelaces. 
  • 1 Pair outer gloves or mittens must be warm, waterproof and durable. (Fleeced glove, black diamond, the north face).
  • 1 Pair hiking boots (Salomon, hi tec, Berghaus or karrimor, meindl or the scarpa, laportiva or Kailash).
  • 1 Pair trekking shoes/sandals. (Bringing a lightweight and comfortable pair of shoes or sandals so that you can use them in and around the tea houses after a day’s trekking).
  • 2/3 Pair hiking socks (merino wool, bridgedale, coolmax, Smartwool).
  • 1 Pair warm thermal socks (thermal socks are slightly thicker than standard trekking socks and are used for colder conditions).
  • 1 Pair gaiters (gaiters cover the ankle -high opening to your boots and are designed to prevents water, mud, rocks and basically anything else from getting into them).
  • 1 Pair mini crampons spikes
  • 1 Large duffel bag (company will provide).
  • 1 Sleeping Bag: A warm 4-season sleeping bag, rated for at least -20°C.
  • 1 Small backpack with 30/45 liters (osprey talon 22 is the perfect size for carrying things such as water, sun cream, camera, hats and snacks).
  • 1 Piece Liner: Look for a mummy-shaped liner for maximum comfort.
  • 1 Set Ear Plugs: Earplugs are a good idea to bring if you're a light sleeper and are disturbed by the snoring of fellow travelers.
  • 1 Pair Trekking Poles: Lightweight and packable poles, such as the TYTN Carbon X or the TYTN Aero
  • 1 Sunglasses: A good pair of UV-protecting sunglasses with 100% UV protection, Julbo glasses.
  • 1 Headlight:.A Petzl Tikkina or Black Diamond Astro Headlamp with an output of 175 lumens and spare batteries is recommended.
  • 1 Liter Water Bottle/ Hydration Bladder: 1-liter standard CamelBak
  • Toiletries: 1 medium-sized quick-drying towel.
  • Toothbrush/paste (preferably biodegradable).
  • Multi-purpose soap (preferably biodegradable).
  • Nail clippers.
  • Face and body moisturizer.
  • Small mirror.
  • Wet wipes (baby wipes).
  • Tissue/ toilet roll.
  • Anti-bacterial hand washes.

  • Anti-altitude sickness pills: Diamox or Acetylzolamide.
  • Stomach antibiotic: Ciprofloxacin, etc. Do not bring sleeping pills as they are respiratory depressants.
  • Water purification tablets or water filters.
  • Extra pair of prescription glasses, contact lens supplies.
  • Lip balm (At least SPF 20).
