When the late Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay set off on their heroic journey in 1953, this region has become famous in the world. Introduction of the Trail:
The complete trek kicks off from Lukla, after having from Kathmandu 35 minutes of scenic flight to Lukla [2,860 meters/9,383ft]. There are many options to reach Himalaya from Jiri or from Phaplu, whatever the flight is the best option for those with limited time.
The Everest three pass trekking is one of the most thrilling adventure treks for excitement-seekers. There are several trekking routes within the Khumbu Region like Namche, Tengboche, Kala Patthar, Everest Base Camp, Kalapathar, Cho La pass, Gokyo lake, Gokyo Ri and Renjola and Thame. The trekking path is when passing the highest pass must walk in glacier path but open path and comfort path.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport [1,350 meters/4,429ft], transfer to hotel:
Welcome to the land of white glowing mountains. Before your landing in Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, the representative from Himalayan Diamond Adventure will have reached there to welcome you. You will have welcome dinner in Nepali cultural dance restaurant with your guide’s briefing about the day program tomorrow. The hotel service includes bed and breakfast.
Day 02: Scenic flight; early in the morning (Kathmandu to Lukla) & trek to Phakding village [2,610 meters/8,563ft]; 2.5 hrs. Overnight in lodge:
We will have 35 minutes of scenic flight in the morning from Kathmandu to Lukla Hillary airport, the most famous airport in the world. If the weather is favorable, during the flight, we will be sightseeing the most magnificent and sensational view of northern and eastern Himalaya vistas before our landing in Lukla Airstrip [2,860 meters/9,383ft].
After a few minutes’ of a short break in the Lukla Bazaar, we set out to scenic journey to Phakding village. The entire track crosses through famous mountaineering Sherpa villages, lodges, shops, gompas (monasteries), mani walls, prayer stones, prayer flags, and more than two well-made suspension bridges with the fascinating landscape on the way to Phakding. Today, we spend overnight at Phakding in a lodge.
Day 03: Head over Namche Bazaar, the capital of Sherpa people [3,440 meters/11,286ft], 5 hours of uphill trail:
Today, we trek to Namche Bazaar [3,440 meters/11,286ft], the main entrance gateway of Khumbu valley and the capital of Sherpa people. Today, we walk about 5 to 6 hours to reach Namche Bazaar from the Phakding village. The trail more slightly ascends up following Dudh Koshi River to confluence (Dovan) of Buddha Koshi and Bhote Koshi River. Finally, we push up strenuous uphill via weaving trail to Namche Bazaar.
We will cross 5 well-made suspension bridges including Hillary Bridge and few small wooden bridges, Sherpa settlements, mani walls, prayer stones, waterfalls, rhododendron, and blue pine forests. While walking on the way, probably the wild animals and birds can be appeared such as Himalayan goat (Thar), Jharal, musk deer and Himalayan pheasant Lophophorus (Danphe) a colorful bird.
Day 04: Hike over Everest view Hotel and sightseeing of Khumjung village:
After breakfast, we go on a hike to the Everest View Hotel, located at 3,870 meters (12,697ft), for stunning Mountain panorama of Amadablam, Thamserku, Lhotse, the Everest, and Tukche. Then our trip continues for the worth sightseeing of Khumjung valley. After a wonderful side trip, we head back to Namche Bazaar. Finally, we visit the mountain museum in Namche. We stay in a lodge (service includes dinner and breakfast with a hot drink like tea and coffee).
Day 05: Trek Tengboche Monastery [3,860 meters/12664ft], 4 to 5 hours of walk:
After breakfast, we will head for Tengboche 3,860 meters (12,664ft), the famous historical monastery. It is located on a tiny plateau situated beneath the Ama Dablam Mountain. We walk 4 to 5 hours to reach Tengboche monastery. After leaving Namche Bazaar, we walk into the deeper valley of Khumbu to Tengboche monastery. There is a largest Buddhist monastery in this village. We stay in a lodge (service includes dinner and breakfast with a hot drink like tea and coffee).
Day 06: Journey to Dingboche village [4,410 meters/14,468ft], 5 hours:
After accomplishing morning activities, as usual, we set out our Himalayan journey through Deuche valley through the pine, birch, and rhododendrons forest. Crossing Imja Tse stream, the trail ascends up towards Dingboche village 4,410 meters (14,468ft), through Pangboche, a Sherpa village and old monastery of the area.
The trail climbs up above Imja – Tse stream with a captivating view of Mt. Ama Dablam and others many glorious mountains. Further, we trek a gentle way upwards of 5 hours to reach Dingboche village. We stay in a lodge (service includes dinner and breakfast with a hot drink like tea and coffee).
Day 07: Hike to Nangkartshang viewpoint [5,083 meters/16,676ft], 2.5hrs of uphill viewing hike:
Today, we hike up to the Nangkartshang viewpoint for majestic surrounding mountain view and acclimatization for the Everest base camp trek. From this elevation 5,083 meters (16,676ft), we can see a substantial view of Chukung, Imja-Tse Dingboche, and Pheriche valley. It’s the only one option to see view of Makalu Mountain 8,463 meters (27,765ft), the world’s 5th highest Mountain in this Everest base camp trek.
Day 08: Move to Chhukung [4,730 meters/15,518ft], walk 3 hours:
Today is a short trek for Chhukung. It’s the last well-settled village of Sherpa in this Imja valley. It takes 2 hours of relaxing walk for the normal trekker to Chhukung from Dingboche village. After breakfast, we start to walk uphill trail following Imja-Tse Khola taking the spectacular circular mountain views. We stay in a lodge (service includes dinner and breakfast with a hot drink like tea and coffee).
Day 09: An exciting journey to Labuche [4,910 meters/16,109ft], passing Khongma La [5,535 meters/18,159ft], 8 hours walk:
Today, we leave Chhukung to Lobuche 4,910 meters (16,109ft), passing the large Yak pasture lands. We see many Yaks grazing. The route gradually rises to Kongma La pass 5,535 meters (18,159ft) between the two rocky hills. The pass is fabulous with circling Mountain View. After savoring of majestic Mountain View, we descend to Khumbu glacier. And we trek through the difficult rocky lands then we reach Lobuche. We stay in a lodge (service includes dinner and breakfast with a hot drink like tea and coffee).
Day 10: Trek to Gorapse the last settlement [5,171 meters/16,965ft], 6 hours of uphill trail:
After breakfast, we set out our trek to Gorapse Lodge 5,170 meters (16,965ft), the last permanently inhabited settlement at the lap of Mount Everest. The path moves through up trail following the edge of the Khumbu glacier and passing stones, gravels to reach Gorapse. If there is fair weather and you are physically fit, we climb to Kalapathar hill 5,550 meters (18,208ft), for the Sunset view on the top of the Everest Mountain in this evening. After breathtaking view of sunset and Khumbu glacier, we head back to Gorapse lodge. We stay in a lodge (service includes dinner and breakfast with a hot drink like tea and coffee).
Day 11: Gorak Shep - Kala Pathar [5,545 meters/18,192ft] and trek to Dzongkha [4,830 meters/15,850ft]: 15km, 8-10 hours:
The trail climbs 2/3 hrs up to Kala Patthar [5,545 meters/18192ft], early in the morning to see first sunlight from top of the world. This is milestone of the trek to inspect panoramic view with the fantastic sunrise over Mt. Everest, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Khumbutse, Changtse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Ama Dablam and many more After accomplishing Kala Patthar, we trek down to Gorak Shep and retrace down to Lobuche. After Lunch, the begin trekking towards Dzongkha crossing several streams, forested trail, small villages, and wooden bridges. We stay in a lodge (service includes dinner and breakfast with a hot drink like tea and coffee).
Day 12: Dzongkha - Cho La [5,375 meters/17,634ft], Thangnak [4,700 meters/15,419ft], Gokyo [4,800m/15,580ft], 9-10 hrs:
Today is going to be one of the toughest days of our trip. The walk begins as we transverse through a spur extending westward from Dzongla. The path descends to a basin across which meanders a murmuring stream crusted with ice at places. In about an hour, we reach the top of the basin readying for the triumph on Cho La. As we gain height, the view back gets increasingly more captivating; the Cho La Lake begins to appear and the Ama Dablam in its pyramidal incarnation presides over a range of mountains on the south as Cholatse sores on the west.
Upon reaching the top, we see prayer flags, strung across cairns, flapping in the strong wind. The scenery of majestic peaks in all directions is breathtaking. After that, you will descend down to Gokyo via Thangnak. We stay in a lodge (service includes dinner and breakfast with a hot drink like tea and coffee).
Day 13: Hike to Gokyo [Ri 5,357 meters/17,575ft], meters for different angle’s backdrop views:
The views in the Gokyo region are tremendous. For the best view, climb Gokyo Ri 5,357 meters (17,575ft), the small peak above the lake. The peak of [5,350m/17,552ft], is sometimes called Kala Patthar (not to be confused with the Kala Pathar above Gorakshep, though the view is similar) It is a two- hours climb to the top of the peak, providing a panoramic view of Cho Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cholatse, Tawache and many more. We stay in a lodge (service includes dinner and breakfast with a hot drink like tea and coffee).
Day 14: Gokyo - Renjo La [5,360 meters/17,585ft] - Morlung [4,210 meters/13,810ft] 8 to 9 hrs:
We need to start at dawn today as we have to trace our trail up to Marlung [4,210 meters/13,812ft], after the conquest of Renjo La [5,345 meters/17,536ft], as there is no alternative to Marlung for overnight today. The path climbs gently up the flank of Gokyo Ri and then zigzags precariously up a finger of the gray screen above the northwest corner of the lake. We proceed early down from the Gokyo Valley, We leave the main trail and turn to Renjo La trail by Dudh Pokhari.
After about 3 hours, we gain the Renjo La where a dazzling vista awaits. The Everest itself, Lhotse, Cholatse, and Taboche can be seen shining in the sun. Views from Renjo La are much like that from Gokyo Ri with third Gokyo Lake and Gokyo Village beneath the gray smear of Ngozumpa Glacier. Continuing on from the pass, the trail winds down a stone staircase and then scramble over loose scree to reach the south bank of a small lake, Angladumba Tsho. Further, we will descend down through a narrow valley and reach Marlung.
Day 15: Marulung - Namche Bazaar [3,440 meters/11,280ft], 8 to 9 hours down walk:
The descent from Marulung to Thame follows a traditional route used for centuries by the Tibetan traders. Down from the Marulung, we cross the Bhote Kosi and descend to Taranga. The trail then goes through the valley of Langmuche Khola. This stream drains down from Dig Tsho, the glacial lake that burst its banks in 1985, causing devastating floods along the Dudh Kosi Valley to Marulung to Thame.
We climb down after crossing a bridge after then eventually reach Sande. After passing through a check post, we come to the world`s highest hydroelectric power station built with the help of Austrians. From here, we trek and reach Namche Bazar past Phurte village.
Day 16:Namche Bazaar - Lukla [2,860 meters/9,175ft], 7 to 8 hours of downhill walk:
Leaving from Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa capital, we descend steeply downhill to the meeting point of Dudh Kosi River and Bhote Kosi River. Then, the trail weaves up and down many times before reaching Lukla. Overnight at a lodge (service includes dinner and breakfast with a hot drink like tea and coffee).
Day 17: A scenic flight Lukla to Kathmandu [1,350 meters/4,429ft], about 35 minutes:
Today, we have a scenic flight Lukla to Kathmandu airport. After reaching Kathmandu, we will move to our hotel included bed and breakfast service. Evening farewell dinner with tourist standard restaurant.
Day 18 to 19: Contingency day, there is no guarantee that we will have favorable weather on our tentative day 17 to have flight. So we need some spare days to cover our program:
If the flight gets canceled due to the bad weather or any technical problem we need some spare days to cover our program. After missing flight schedule time in Himalaya region, there is a very less chance to get flight Lukla to Kathmandu, so we have got another alternative way is take a helicopter or trek to down Phaplu – Salleri for two days fantastic trek and Jeep drive back to Kathmandu Hotel.
Day 20: Departure for home, we drop you at Tribhuvan International Airport. Say goodbye:
We drop you in Tribhuvan International Airport in the terminal room as per your flight departure time by tourist Bus or a Car and say goodbye.
